What is CHAS?
The Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) is a Singapore government scheme that helps eligible Singapore Citizens receive subsidies for medical and dental care at participating clinics.
A Dental Clinic is a CHAS-accredited dental clinic, allowing eligible patients to receive subsidies for selected dental treatments at our Jurong East and Clementi clinics. The subsidy available depends on your CHAS card type and the dental treatment you receive.
CHAS dental subsidies are available to CHAS Blue and CHAS Orange cardholders, as well as Pioneer Generation (PG) and Merdeka Generation (MG) cardholders for selected dental services.
Which CHAS Cards Do We Accept?
We accept the following cards for eligible dental subsidies:
- CHAS Blue
- CHAS Orange
- Pioneer Generation (PG) Card
- Merdeka Generation (MG) Card
The amount of subsidy depends on your card type, the treatment received and the applicable CHAS claim limits. Subsidy rates and eligible treatments may change, so we recommend checking the latest information on the official CHAS website before your appointment.
You can also contact the CHAS hotline at 1800-275-2427 (1800-ASK-CHAS) for information about your eligibility and available subsidies.
How to Use CHAS Card at A Dental Clinic Singapore?
Using your CHAS subsidy is straightforward:
- Bring your valid CHAS, Pioneer Generation or Merdeka Generation card and NRIC to your appointment.
- Let our team know that you would like to use your CHAS subsidy when booking or registering for your appointment.
- We will verify your eligibility and the applicable subsidy for the treatment.
- You will be informed of the applicable charges after the subsidy is taken into account.
CHAS subsidies apply only to selected dental services and are subject to the applicable claim limits and clinical requirements. Your dentist will assess your treatment needs and advise whether the procedure qualifies for a CHAS subsidy.
CHAS vs. Medisave – What’s the Difference?
CHAS and Medisave are different healthcare schemes that cover different types of expenses.
CHAS provides subsidies for selected dental services at participating dental clinics. Depending on the card type, covered treatments may include consultations, scaling and polishing, fillings, extractions, root canal treatment, dentures and crowns, subject to applicable claim limits and eligibility requirements.
MediSave may be used for certain eligible dental surgical procedures. Eligible seniors may also use Flexi-MediSave for specified dental treatments, including permanent crowns and root canal treatment, at participating institutions, subject to prevailing CPF/MOH eligibility requirements and withdrawal limits. .
Whether CHAS or Medisave applies depends on the type of treatment you require. Speak with our dental team during your consultation if you would like to understand the available subsidy or payment options for your treatment.
